Man Im dissappointed. The teg weighs around 2500 and the hatch weighs 2100. What makes the teg soo heavy? Anything worth removing? (non functional stuff)

like the rear wiper assy... what do power locks/windows/moonroof weigh?

umm... there is a lot...

Integra is 172.4 inches long while an eg hatch is 160.2.... that's a biiig difference. all those options do weigh more as well...

unless you have an RS, you're teg weighs closer to 2700 lbs than 2500 lbs. and the eg hatch you're referring to is the CX, the others weigh more.

the teg is bigger like gerbilo said; it also has a bigger glass hatch, a bigger motor, bigger wheels, disc brakes all around, (the cx has drums in the rear), the list can go on............but I'll let others continue it if they feel like it.

if you wanted an ultra light weight car, then you should go for a 88 crx HF. Otherwise why be disappointed

GS-R is listed as 2590 lbs. curb weight I believe.

The only hatch anywhere near 2100 is the CX. The Si weighs in the 2400 range I think.

its not always about weight, depends on what you want to do..i mean if you are going to autoX who would pick a hatch over an integra...weight is not always that big of an issue, plus compared to all other cars, honda's are the lightest that you'll find so stop whining, why would be dissapointed integra's have so much more to offer IMO.

I know right, but that's why am here.

Some things you don't need:
Rear wiper/motor assembly
AC System
Power Steering System
Rear Seats
Plastics on Hatch
Rear Quarter/Trunk Plastics
Big *** metal bar under Rear Seats
Small steel or aluminum bar behind rear seats

Some other things for weight reduction:
Light weight wheels
Carbonfiber hood/Hatch/Sunroof block off
Lexan rear glass

And your teg should be a lot lighter!

Ive taken the sunroof out before and it does NOT weigh more then 35lbs or so. That minus the weight of the metal where the sunroof should be(in say an RS) is probably no more then 20lbs extra.

I use Edmunds.com, to get my factory specs, the 1994 integra gs/ls weigh 2,643lbs; a 1998 integra gs weighs 2,636lbs according to them, so 2,590 is a bit light.

so you weighed it on a scale, or are these very rough estimates. The small piece of sheet metal in the place of the moonroof on a RS does not weigh 15 pounds. Please weigh your entire moonroof unit with a scale, and comeback with the results, otherwise, I don't see how it means much. If it is around 35lbs, that's still a good chunk of weight for a fairly useless hole in the middle of your roof.....just my opinion...if you wnat fresh air above your head, get an s2000....j/k

Yea that was a rough estimate....on the other hand I know how much 100lbs is and the sunroof is no where near that....thus Im a hell of alot closer to true weight then you are.

incorrect
all integras are over 2600 besides the rs
a 3rd gen gsr is 26xx colse to 2700 lbs
g2 are a lil lighter
a g2 ls is 2590
and a rs is about 2550

if you campare an integra to a eg si which is 24xx lbs the weight is less that 200 pounds and the si still doesent have power windows
stop comparing it to cx's

im just thinking of that video with the white turbo hatch and the infamous 515 whp gsr.

the hatch, with 300whp, was keeping up just fine. it just worried me a little bit.
