Default GSR header on an LS?

Ok, I'm currently talking to some guy on the parts trader about buying his used DC ceramic header. He says it is the GSR model header, but he had it on his LS. I asked him if he modified the header, and he told me that he didn't, he just had to "tweak" it for a while and he eventually pulled it together. So does this sound reasonable? Can a GSR header fit on an LS? Anyone done this before? Also, there is a small dent on the header. How much will this affect performance? For $85 I think it is worth it, even if it's not perfect. I'm a poor college kid, and once I get money I'll get a brand new shiny Comptech, but I would like something to tide me over until then. TIA for any input.

No.

An 00-01 GSR header will work on an LS, but no other GSR header will fit.
"Tweak it for a while"...typical partstrader sellers I wonder how he tweaked it?

You will need a cat with a 2.5" inlet because of the new size of the header.

make sure ur cars not too low.... i've already been through one 4-1 header... now i have a 4-2-1.... much better


now its just my oil pan that hits shiet

I installed a DC 421 Ceramic GSR header on my 95 LS.

I had to take the header to a shop and have it lengthened with a piece of pipe(4") ant rotate the flange about 90deg.

Very easy to do...$15 tops.

DONT FORGET TO AD A HOLE IN THE PIPE FOR THE O2! you should get it put in as close to the flange as possible to clear the intermediate shaft!
