5th gen front lower tie bar......
Wondering if anyone is running a Tanabe or Cusco front lower tie bar, and if it is worth it. Any difference with it?
Im running a EX front sway bar w/ ES bushings+endlinks, ES front strutrod bushing, ST rear swaybar, front and rear strut bars, rear lower tie bar, ITR strongbar welded into the trunk, Tein SS revalved shocks for 670lb springs in front and 900lb springs in the rear+ pillowball mounts, Autopower 4point rollbar w/ harness bar.
Just seeing if it would be something worth getting or just another cosmetic piece that does nothing to reinforce the chassis. Right now w/ older tires in the rear, it does oversteer a tad. All input is welcome, thanks.......

if you tell me this car is ever driven on the street, i will honestly eat my own *****.........670 and 900.....thats gotta be like those "shake stuff up" commercials for the hersheys choclate milk
i dont believe ive ever heard of front lower tie bars, but i would think their potential is limited, being that they basically join the struts together, and not any part of the actual chassis/sheet metal, right???

Yes this is my daily driver and I do drive on the street with this setup. It's not as harsh as you would think, and I do drive in messed up LA streets often.
The front lower tie bar connects the 2 points where the lower control arms bolt up to the subframe, but the subframe doesn't do much flexing I would think. I know the back serves very little purpose, but Im wondering if the front would....
here's a link to pics of my car for the ITR strongbar

did you notice any difference with the type R bar in the trunk? I would think maybe it would serve a better purpose alittle further back?

i have one. check my cardomain page for a pic through the driver's side wheel well.
as for strength, yes it does tie everything together better. i like it. it's not going to be drastic, but having one more piece tying the chassis together was enough for me.
two things:
1. it sees lots of road debris, so it starts to look "un-show quality" kind of quickly.
2. it is easy to install, but i recommend air tools, as the factory lower control arm bolts are reused and the mounting plate for the bar is approx. 1/8" thick aluminum.
hope THAT helps you.
