I have to wait untill tomorrow to get my o2 sensor from my buddy, but in the meantime since my swap is all done except this part, can I start my car up to see if everything else works? Or would that do some damage to the engine?

start it and drive it...just don't race it. You will throw a CEL.

 

allright thanks. I won't be driving it, but just want to make sure the dizzy that is in there works okay... it didn't have a cap on it when i got it and I dont know how long it sat... going to get antifreeze right now to fill up the rad then will start it up.

You can start it right up, you may though have a very loud rattle can sounding exhaust due to the whole escaping gas out of itty bitty hole deal. And you can actually make it about one-half mile before the CEL goes on. I tried after my swap.

but just don't drive out to long or even a bit if it is a rebuild

rings didn't seat right mixture was off and fried the rings.....

It will run like crap without the o2 sensor but starting it and driving around the block won't hurt.
