Default Hondata problem....very strange check engine light

Right now i have a s100 with a p28 running in open loop aka no feedback form the o2 sensor.

Now i get a very srange intermitent check engine light. When the engine is cold and just start it up its fine. I can get the light to come on every time by going about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle in 4th gear then letting it slow down in gear...then the ligt come on. I shut it down and turn it back on but no light anymore.

I jump the service wire and check the code it gives me a code 1 which is the primary o2 sensor. I replaced it to no avail. But teh thing is, its running in open loop anyway so i dont get it.......any ideas?

supposedly its a problem with the hondata system, where when you are decelerating, the check engine light comes on. Hondata wont acknowledge the problem, and i hear quite a few people have it happen to them, including myself.

This also happens to me but ONLY when I don't have the laptop hooked up the the blue box. I have no freakin clue why it does it. I swear it never did it before.

I've only had that problem when I'm running it in open loop.

this is a problem with the lastest software release, its like the ecu forgets its in open loop mood at certain points. I've had it happen twice recently, the prior 6 months before that, nothing. For some reason, once i uped the boost, i started to get it. I'm sure a new software fix will come out. I guess i'm lucky that i just don't get it that much.

i have this same problem on my car, i talked to my hondata tuner and he said he gets the same thing on his car, he has talked to hondata and they know about the problem, but I guess they said they are working on other things right now so they know about it and will fix it eventually, just not right now. i guess it shows up on some full race cars that don't even have o2 sensors

Yeah I have the same problem on my setup.... S200b on a P75 (LS). It used to come on every once in a while. And like those stated above, once I shut off the engine and re-crank the CEL would go away. Now the damn thing comes on all the time. It is freakin' annoying. My tuner is aware of this problem so I guess all I can do, too is wait for a "fixer" software. Oh yeah....by the way my car has NO O2 sensor. No need to ask me how I managed to pass a SMOG inspection.

I have the same problem. Happened 3 times today, which was irritating. Usually doesn't happen that often, may have something to do with our recent cooler weather?

Only occurs during deceleration. I just ALT+Tab over to Hondalogger and just clear the code while I am driving.

I'm in the same weather region as you and we experience the same cold front that IL goes through. I haven't had any random CEL occurences.

Try to disable the o2 heater in the options menu.

This isnt funny....I spoke with Hondata.......they claim it to be a bad ECU...My ECU has never done this before...I let a customer borrow it until his new one comes in...and now its doing it....I know the ECU is not bad....

What kind of ignition systems do you guys have??? boxs/plugs/wires

msd blaster SS, magnacore wires, bkr7e plugs, stock ignitor, msd cap. It just recently started for my car, only once i turned the boost past 10psi on the 3 bar. I wonder if its not a 3 bar conversion at the moment. As the only people that experience this that I help tune have 3 bar and are running past 11psi.

THis doesn't help. I always disable the O2 heater.

It isn't a bad ECu because it does it to both my ECU's that were chipped by hondata.
