It happens to everyone. It is inevitable. The classic world renowned Honda-tech lowball. It is an art to some, and an insult to others.
You know how it goes. You've got parts you dont need, but you need some money. You post up your posessions that you dont use or have a need for any longer hoping to salvage an investment and not take too much of a hit. Obviously you cant sell it new, and you are going to take a loss, but the idea is to take as little of a loss as possible, while still being reasonable in your asking price. Obviously the seller should be a bit negotiable, but that has its limits.
Then it happens:
You click a thread topic and an IM pops up offering you 40% of what you are asking. And then you post the story here
Lets here some of them. This should make some decent entertainment.
I think the most classic lowballs are on the cars for sale. You want 9k, and some fruitcup Im's you and offers you 5k because thats what his stunna partna paid for one.

Bought a wrescked itr for $3100 spent the 3 night's and 2k and built it back up only for a guy at the honda dealership( slimy sales man) to offer me 4 for her. A customer( his) standing there looked over at him gave him the finger and offered $18,500. Then comenced to tell him what he thought of him for making me that offer.. I still own and love that itr.

lol. People have no fear when it comes to making these offers.
It is pretty standard for someone to try and talk you down about 500 bucks on a car...no matter what the value.
Talkign you down 500 bucks on an engine swap? Thats a lowball.
Im have an ad on HT right now selling some ITR front seats....no rear seats, just front seats.
This kid im's me yesterday and says "ill give you 500 bucks for your front and rear seats" ROFL
