More BAR nonsense: Davidson might drive?, Button might lose F1 license!

Jenson Button runs the risk of losing his Superlicense if he's in breach of contract, Formula One's impresario Bernie Ecclestone warned Sunday.

Fellow Briton Anthony Davidson will be called upon to race Jenson Button's BAR in Hungary and for the rest of the season, according to speculation on Monday.
Wow, F1 silly season is going overboard!

LOL....buying out contracts is nothing new in racing, someone is just trying to make an example out of Button!

only if he is in breach of the contract. General perception is that he exploited a loophole, that does not make him in breach of anything.

Exactly! When is this any different from any other option. BAR has Button and they're pissed that they are losing a great driver because of a contract clause.
I'm interested to see how pissy Richards gets and if Davidson really does drive. If so, that's more of his immaturity (even for his age) showing.
He should just drop down onto his stomach and start pounding and crying like the baby he is acting like.
I think one of the possibilties is he probably has been using the "we got Button" card a little too much, and now they may not.

We will also see how badly BMW/Williams wants Button! I am sure it can turn into a BAR/Williams laywer battle. I'm sure Williams reviewed Button's contract for the loophole before they made the offer to Button, otherwise I am sure they would have paid BAR to buy Button out of the contract. If there is a loophole, then I think they just exploited it so they wouldn't have to pay even more money to BAR for the buyout.

I think BMW is going to stay out of it. They'll leave it between BAR and Buttons managing company. It'd be silly for Williams to get into it after they just recently (2 years?) finished that whole Senna manslaughter thing.

I cannot see BAR doing this as they would most likely be losing valuable constructors points. They would only be punishing themselves.

I agree but, they may use it to punish Button. *shrug* Wouldn't make sense but then again, how much do we really see from behind the scenes?

One thing I wonder about is that now that BAR knows Button is leaving shouldn't they viciously protect all of their new technological developments? I'd hate for them to show up on the FW27 next year.

Montoya stated a few weeks back that stuff has already been hidden from him.

I doubt too many drivers know all the inner workings of the car anyhow. They know how the car operates, but I am sure they could just drive a car and not know all the technology there is underneath the bodywork.
