Spoon vs Mugen: Strut Tower Bar
the Mugen one is bigger and it works really well. I know because i have it along with the rear one. The front one looks nice until you put it next to the Mugen one and see how small the stocker really is. I dont know much about the Spoon one, but I believe its smaller in size. It also doesnt have the triangulated ends like the Mugen one does for more strength.
i have the mugen front bar.. i must say that it really does work..i did a test one day when i was bored...one with no front strut tower bar,one with the stock bar and last i put the mugen bar back on...i must say i could notice a difference..but it is just a strut tower bar..and it help's...its not like it's gonna make your car handle like some go cart...get what you want....overall im very happy with my mugen bar
As for the front the Mugen bar weighs abit more then the AL. Spoon bar. As ridge goes I would think the Mugen would be abit stronger but not enough for me to get it. Also some like the Mugens unpolished look and others like the Spoons polished look. So it's really up to you which you like the best and if it suits what your needs are.

I recently installed the spoon Rear Strut Tower Bar. It was a breeze, you will need to cut the plastic covers though. I don't see how everyone says the spoon bars are not sturdy. I was pullin and pushin the **** out of that damn bar, and it will not budge. I think it will hold up just fine.
The Mugen bars do look nicer, but I don't think they are worth double the price.

SPOON's performs pretty good and cost quite a bit less than the Mugen tower bar. I will say SPOON is the best bang for the buck.
Best bang 4 $ has to be the 4-point Neuspeed at about $80.
Hey guys, what about the oem type R bar. I put that on my car, IT made a big difference, I guess that's because i never had one to begin with
what about the oem type R bar.
here's the deal with mugen bars. they are as good as you mount them. since you have to drill your own holes to make it fit, a sloppy install will equal a sloppy bar. my buddy has one on his 00 hatch and the thing is on TIGHT. but i could see someone doing a poor install and having it do nothing to help with tying the chassis tighter.
the spoon bar has pivot points, but it also physically ties the strut towers together because that's where the bracket is mounted. so it has advantages and disadvantages. disadvantage is that it's not one piece, but advantage is that you can't mess up while installing it. it's definitely higher quality than the cheap ones. spoon has 2 pivot points - one on each side of the connecting bracket. pick up a $40 one and you'll see what i mean.... there will be maybe 4 pivot points on those bars. when i installed the spoon i had to have 2 people on each side of my car pushing in on the chassis so i could line up the bar and pop the bolt in! trust me when i say that stinkin bar is on really tight. i wasnt too impressed with the fact that it wasnt one piece at first, but anyone who's seen my spoon bar knows that the sucka holds my strut towers together really tight.
no matter which you go with, the handing will improve no matter what. mugens are way more expensive..... $289 apiece i think. decide on your budget and go from there.
