Great accord question?
I have a 98 accord with 124k miles and a 4-cyl. The question is what is "drivetrain kicking"? Is this normal? Will it get worse? Should I do anything or let it go? The slight kicking occurs when I let off the gas pedal at slow speeds. Other than this the drivetrain and transmission run perfect. All comments are appreciated.
im no expert but that kicking could possibly be your transmission downshifting, it happens, when you let up on the accelerator, Honda's have been known to have a little kick to their transmissions, so i dont know whether its normal or not, a slight kick is acceptable, but if its something that makes you shift from your seat then i would say, have a word with a technician at a dealer perhaps, thats as far as my knowledge takes me, good luck with the problem.
mine has a defined kick sometimes, and other times its smooth. its a picky little thing. I wouldnt worry about it mines been doing that for a couple years now, no griding, slipping, anything.
