Cable clutch feel
My brother just bought his first car, a 89 CRX SI. The body is real nice. While driving it, I found the clutch very weird. Letting up on the clutch, it almost felt like the pedal was trying to stay at the floor. Then when bringing it up to engage, it would be very sudden.
Is that just a cable tranny feel, and I am just use to my hydrolic, or is there something possibly wrong with it?

Its not the hardness, hell I have a stiffer pressure plate, so most stock cars feild weird/soft. It has nothing to do with that, its just a diffrent feel.

Its going to be located on the transmission itself. In the engine compartment, underneath the battery on the passenger side, its a nut type adjustment cable, I believe its clockwise to tighten and counterclockwise to loosen.
Freeplay for your clutch pedal is suppose to be somewhere around 5mm or so, but I could be wrong
I always thought hydro clutches felt soft.

alright, thanks for your help. I have a GSR swaped del Sol, and have worked on many other honda's but never pre-92. I am sure that they are just as easy to work on.

I bought one that had similar problems. There was a brand new clutch cable on it. I thought for sure the trans was the trouble, but on a whim, I changed the new parts store cable out with an old Honda one I had laying around (takes about 5 minutes tops). The clutch was smooth as silk after that. The parts store chepo cable was too thick and was pinched where it went through the cable bracket. The other person that I bought the car from had been driving it that way for a while apparently
. Check to make sure it isn't pinched. My quick visual inspection would have never imagined that.
