Should I turbo???
I'm looking to buying this 95 prelude Si with 87,000 miles on it for $7000 good price? If I buy this prelude my plans are to tune it with hondata and turbo it. Would the 87,000 mile engine be reliable for boost?
7000 seems a litlle steep but the mileage is fairly low. Check http://www.kbb.com for price.
As far as the turbo, read this thread

But to answer your specific question. Yes, your engine can be safely turboed at 87,000 miles. As long as its in good condition.
You need to make sure it is running correctly/no problems.

I agree with Behan, that price is pretty high for a 95 Si. With that much you might be able to find a decent 5th gen or a 4th gen VTEC.
As for the turbo, check the compression on each of the Cylinders to make sure they are in good shape and the numbers and are within 20psi of each other.

Fixed that for ya.
I searched to find the usual psi for an h23 compression test, i didn't really find a conclusive answer, but 160 seeemed like a consistent reading for an h23. If you want the exact number from the manual i can check it later.

you should only turbo if you understand what a turbo set up requires (parts, knowledge, and maintenance), if you do - go for it! if not - learn - then go for it.
as to the mileage - as mentioned - do a compression test first and go from there.

agreed, make sure you know what youre getting into. Spend some time reading up on it and learning first, and do it right and once you go boost you never wanna go back!!

$7000 is very steep for that year lude, esspecially an Si. It really doesn't matter what the mileage is on the engine if you focus your attention to rebuilding it and preparing it for boost (most of the preparation for boost cuts out parts of the rebuild anyway). I recently bought a 92 Si for $700. The body needs a little work as well as the interior but I bought the car for the engine. With 170k miles on it, I'm rebuilding, setting up for boost, and throwing it in my 95 accord.
