Default what swaps into a first gen easily?

Sorry for the newb question...I'm new to this forum and these motors, but not to racing. I've got an 88 integra that is my track car. It is gutted with an autopower race cage/tokico adj. front and rear. susp. techniques front and rear sways, I/H/E, etc. The old D16 DOCH motor finally gave up on me after 215K. I am wondering what my options are. I know I can swap in another d16, but I was looking for more than that. How about a b16 or a newer LS motor. These are motors I can get cheaply where I work. Any info or links would help.
Thanks

try http://www.g1teg.org and http://www.hybridgarage.com

You can basically put any B-series motor in it, as long as you get the correct engine mount kits from Hasport, or figure out your own.

No problem, good luck with the project. Sounds fun.

I would get the B16 over the LS, especially if you can get it for cheap. The B16 has less torque, more hp, and vtec of course - however, for either of those setups (LS or B16), you would need a new tranny, since a D-series won't work with a B-series. The B16 tranny would be better than the LS (LS has veerrrry long gearing) in your case. If you didn't want vtec, you might try to get an LS (more torque, less hp) and match it with a B16 tranny.

Either way, your car is pretty light and would probably be noticeably quicker with either setup.
