Cover over spark plugs?
I just got a 96' GSR and noticed that 3 or the 4 bolts holding the cover above the spark plugs on the manifold have been broken off. (Flush with the manifold) My question is wether I am going to have to drill them out, remove the manifold and take them out, or just leave them alone and have just one bold securing the cover. Any help would be appreciated.
you mean the 4 bolts that hold the spark plug cover on the Valve cover?
if so, you are going to have to Throw that engine-away, NO good already
Nah, here's what you do... Those four bolts are actually really long studs and bolt into the top of the head, you can have have those studs replaced easily, take off your valve cover and you can remove the broken studs with a 12mm wrench, order the replacement studs and you are good to go.
My friend's 96 GSR had the same problem, one of the studs on the top broke off, but we replaced it easily, go to your acura dealer and order them, if I am not mistaken it should be a regularly stocked item.

That little joke was not funny! j/k
So you just remove the valve cover and remove the studs. Is there any gaskets I need to replace at this time, I am changing the spark plugs to NGK V-Power plugs (resistor type) and was going to change the wires but was told unless there is signs of damage to leave them alone. Are those the right type of plugs???
Thanks for your quick help.

hehe... told the same joke to my friend when his stud broke off, you should have seen his face...
Anyway, yeah, while you are at it, you should change the Valve cover gasket and spark plug seals, it comes with the Valve cover gasket kit you can buy from Acura or one for a B16 off a 99-00 Civic SI is the same, from Honda (same part NO.) you will need some Honda Bond at the Corners to prevent leakage or some type of sealant.
I have never used the NGK-V stuff, I always used the NGK-R or NGK or Denso Iridium. BTW you can get those Iridiums at ClubPlug.net for cheap.
it is recommended that you change the wires, but if they don't have damage you can leave them alone.
