Anyone have any info on rebuilding an MC? Where can I get a kit? Whats included in the rebuild kit?

 

I was recently was going to do this for my CRX MC but there is no place to buy a "rebuild" kit. I ended up just buying a rebuilt MC from a local parts store. It sucks you can't find the kits because it would be to simple to rebuild it yourself.

 

thats crap cause i wanna rebuild the 15/16 MC i just picked up....really don't want to buy a "new" one.

speakin of master clyinder, can i run a 15/16 when i have rear disc and ran the mc with out the 40/40 porpertion vavle ?

i have a rebuilt 15/16" that i was going to use on my civic. but project has been set aside. it's for sale.

I think he meant he bought a rebuilt one like I did. I even checked with the dealer on the kit or at least just buying all the parts seperately. But they said they aren't available. (Of course we know, we never trust someone at the parts counter! LOL)

I went with the 15/16 prelude MC for the rex. Its rebuilt by some company who supplies probably all the local parts stores. Its not new from the dealer, but it does come with a lifetime warranty. Don't think you can get that type of warranty from the dealer.

I wanted to rebuild mine because I had spent hours polishing and buffing it. But I didn't have any choice. So I gave in and paid like skipmic said, something like 50 something for the 15/16.

 

i dont know if they have kits,but i would just get the parts separatly and rebuild it myself..good luck

Yes, they'll want the core or $20. Check with your dealer, mine said the individual parts are not availabe.
