Default Flywheel Question

I got a fidanza flywheel installed about 250 miles ago. The instructions said to wait 4 to 5 hundred miles before giving it full engine power to make sure it was seated properly. Well I couldn't wait, especially when someone wants to race me. So if I did mess anything up would I know right away? I also got a centerforce stage 1 clutch installed, now when I'm over 4 grand and shift into fifth it grinds a little, only in fifth though. Whats up with that? Anyone?

Hey man, i didn't put a flywheel in but i bought a ACT 6-puck clutch and pressure plate. Babying the clutch and in your case the flywheel as well, is really important. I couldn't wait with my clutch and it still worked but in first gear it would make a really loud and obnoxious squealing noise. It sounded just like a bus with fucked up brakes. It started after a couple burnouts and races. You can either live with it for a while like i did or resurface your flywheel. The squeal went away after a good while. Your situation doesn't sound too bad though, mine was embarassing as all hell. You just have to suck it up and baby it next time, even though its really ****** hard too.

Damn man, its so hard not to get on it, I hope I didn't mess anything up! Did you ever find out what was making your clutch make that noise?

not necessarily, but I wouldn't be suprised if your
clutch wears out prematurely.

it's probably your fifth gear synchro that's starting to fail on you,
some gm synchromesh might help a little.
if your over 4grand you could also just double pump the
clutch and it will go in more smoothly

The clutch didn't have a break in period just the flywheel. How would an improperly seated flywheel cause premature wear on the clutch?
