Default Problem Solved!!! Starts but dies after replacing throttle body

Help. My 90 Civic was running good except for the CEL coming on. I replaced the throttle body assembly (including fuel injectors) from a junk engine and at first it did not start (20 tries) but now it starts and only runs for a fraction of a second. I don't see anything wrong, see and smell gas in the the intake manifold, and I'm not sure where to go from here. Any ideas? Thanks Found my own solution. I had to pump the gas pedal all the way to the floor, up and down, about 10 times, while I cranked the starter, it then started and ran fine. This forum is great. By reading it I was able to solve my problem for very low cost. Also my CEL now stays off YEAAHHH.
Long Background: A month ago I bought this car with 77000 miles from original owner. Was running great except for CEL coming on. Was giving codes 1 and 16. Code 1 is O2 sensor , code 16 is fuel injectors. O2 sensor was good, but what I call the choke valve was always fully closed due to rusty parts on the throttle body. Did not look repairable to me. Hooking up a voltmeter in the O2 sensor circuit and driving the car would give rich readings on occasion where the CEL would set. So the stuck closed choke valve seemed to be related. It also had a cracked piece of plastic on the lower injector and corrosion on the upper injector. So I felt both the throttle body and injectors needed replacement. A nice Honda technician gave me the whole intake manifold, throttle body, etc that he removed from a junk engine. I assume he only kept the parts he gave me because they were good and because the bottom part of the motor was junk. I parked this car 3 days ago. It always started right up on one try. I did disconnect the electrical wiring harness at the fuel pump the day I worked on it so that I could crank the motor and let it run out of gas in the line to avoid spilling so much in the engine compartment. To my surprise when I went to start it to "drain" the fuel line it did not start. I thought it would have run for a few seconds. Could my disconnecting the fuel pump have shorted it out.
