clear front light assembly
Is it true that if you take the amber lens out of the front light assembly on a 98 or newer accord, so its completely clear, water can get into it? Is it even possible to take the lens out?
when you take the amber strip out, are you planning to break the back of the housing? the headlight has a certain seal of some sort to prevent water from getting in. once you break that seal and break the housing, you compromise the intergrity of the sealant, resulting in a great chance of water getting into the headlight...
save the hassle and buy clear headlights...

NOT TRUE. Goto http://www.accordv6.com and search Alicia. She has a webpage on do-it-yourself mods. One of them is clearing your headlights. If you take care- use a hair dryer and warm up the silicone that's holding the two pieces together- it will come apart eventually. But you must take time and patience or else you will crack the housing. After you remove the strip, you just have to buy a bottle of flowable RTV clear silicone for about $2.99 to seal it all back up. Be careful there or else water WILL get in. However, if you do a good job- like i did- then no water. It has been tested by normal rain weather and also a couple of car washes. No water. It may sound like a pain in the *** but it's much cheaper ($3 vs. $200) and also looks better IMO. Aftermarket ones sometimes are poorly made and fit/aim funny as well. Do your own wrench work. It'll take approx. 3-4 hours so don't plan on doing anything for an afternoon and get cracking.
Haha- no offense taken- I was just trying to avoid bad rumors that people HAVE to buy aftermarket or risk breaking their headlights. It's not that bad if you have some time and some patience.
