Default Memory Fab and Top Fuel intakes?

I've been reading about about intakes lately. I was thinking about going with a Comptech ice box. It seems like a short ram with a shield seems the best way to go. I was looking around in the sponsor market place and saw the new Memory Fab intakes from Japan. They have a short ram with a fake c/f shield. It looks like it'd be pretty sweet. If the reusable filter ends up not flowing well, I can try it out with a K&N. I'm thinking about just buying it and dynoing it anyway, but I'd like to get your opinions first. Info: http://www.iosrc.com/memoryfab/detail/?id=304 They also sell the Top Fuel Type 2 intake: http://www.iosrc.com/memoryfab/detail/?id=28 If I got the Top Fuel, I would probably fabricate some sort of heat shield. The Memory Fab seems like a pretty good deal. The prices listed on their site include shipping from Japan, but H-T members get free shipping from their US distributor. Thanks.

That's a big price difference. How much performance difference could intakes have, Andrew? Just go with the Memory Fab and put the rest of the money toward something else.

How's the car holding up? I haven't seen it since I saw it at your work.

Whoa, Rob, long time buddy. There can be a lot of differences, even ones that don't show up on dynos. Like the recent talk has been about the J's not performing well once the engine bay gets hot cuz it sucks in hot air. This doesn't show up in one or two dyno pulls with the hood open and fans blowing all over everything. The price and design of the Memory Fab makes it very attractive. It seems unanimous that the Mugen cold air box is the best, but I don't have $600 to drop on an intake.

my buddy was looking around on ebay and found this:

and this:

These don't even look like knock offs, they look exactly the same...
