Default If you're into 4wd trucks check this out

My little brother is 17 and he just got his truck lifted. Its a 97 s10, sportside, 4wd, 5spd, 4.3L Vortec, ext cab, really nice truck actually. It used to be mine when i was going to school in the mountains. He got a 5" susp lift and a 2" body lift, Mickey Thompson wheels, 33" Savero tires, and lockers for the rearend (what us honda guys refer to as a lsd). Any ways just thought id share with you bc i thought it looks pretty good for a truck. Oh yeah if anyone is looking at this and is a photoshop wizard, could you put some black fender flares on there for me, im trying to explain that they will look good on there

thats what im trying to tell him, idk if the zr2 flares would fit right on there considering its got the flared sides and i think the zr2's fenderwells are wider, but something similar would look good i think

Actually...a locker is not a LSD at all, they work totally differenly. A locker will LOCK the rear wheels so they ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO spin together when torque is applied. LSDs suck for four wheeling applications because if you lift a wheel off the ground your LSD turns into an open differential.

Thats a nice looking truck, but IFS really sucks for anykind of fourwheeling other than mud.

Yes youre right about the lockers...what i didnt add in there was that its "for all intensive purposes" an lsd when it comes to four wheeling....and yes IFS DOES suck for most off roading activities, but its his daily driver and he didnt want it to be gone in the shop for tooo long, anyways, i went out with him tonight on a trail, and hes a wuss when it comes to off roading, when i was his age and had a bronco II, i was crazy with that thing, so i dont see him needing anything other than this setup

thanks for all the good comments, this week we are gonna give the under carriage a good cleaning and give most of the visible/rust prone areas a nice coating of black krylon , and im in the process of fabbing him a good skidplate, maybe he will let me rip then engine out and drop the LT1 crate engine i just built in there haha

i do agree on that one, we are gonna see if the zr2 flares will work, if not we'll see if any aftermarket ones will work..

the craziest thing about this truck is that there are plenty of trucks around here that make this look mild
