GR2s are ok for a moderate (1.5") drop.

i have those shocks. When i bought them long ago, I remember reading that they are only warrantied for drops that are 1" or less.

When they're new, they're firm...it was hard going over railroad tracks, etc. But now that they've settled in, they're just like stock. My passengers don't even realize a change in ride quality...feels normal for them

I just got some gr-2's and they're pretty good so far. I dropped my 98 accord 1.5 front and 1.2 rear. I matched them up w/H&R sport springs. Ride quality isn't bad at all. Just make sure you don't drop ur car more than 2 inches w/the gr-2's. If u are, just go w/koni's or tokico's. Hope this helps.

3 - 4 inch drop, you dont want agx or gr2's you need koni yellows, i had a 3in drop on my car, was ridding on the springs, you will blow a agx in a week and it wont get replaced cause the warrenty is only good for 1.5-2 in drop. the yellows have an adjustable perch, and they are better than agx's. but if you dont want to slam your car the agx's are great for the money.

whoa. yeah 3-4" doesn't sound at all like a gr2 to me. i had those paired up with b&g's and sportlines at various times. how are they, well, ride very close to stock if you are looking for better performance, look further. i guess that can also be interpreted as comfortable. anyway, the b&g springs lowered the car 1.6 frt & rear, the eibachs i believe were like 1.9 ft and 1.8 rear give or take on that one. but the gr2 i don't think will perform well if you go much lower than 2.25 or 2.5. that kinda goes for the rest of theme too. HP's, illumina's, koni reds and yellows*, agx's i believe were all mentioned. sounded like comfort was favored more over performance. i don't believe any of those are going to be riding very well, definitely not for very long, especially creepin up on that big 4 inch mark. in more detail on the agx in particular, i had those paired up with neuspeed 'race' springs on a 1997 civic coupe....those nspeeds dropped it a little over two in the front i think and about 2 in the rear i would guess. at that height, the piston was pretty submerged into the shockbody, travel was minimal. chances are that droppping an accord 3 or more inches on agx's will be shortlived...and combine a longer wheelbase with a 3-4" drop on a daily driven accord and you have a money pit, in terms of **** that may go wrong. good god the oil pan clearance is gonna be scary. high centering the car may become a constant threat. for the drop you want it seems as though, dare i say, airbags would be the most economical. let me know how it goes. i live in la but commute to sd frequently. i also have either the b&g springs or the eibach sportlines for sale.
*wylie15 brought up good info about adjustable perch on the koni yellow. i gotta agree that sounds like it would work...

well clearance issues aren't a problem, ive become quite efficient in driving with a 4' drop...im just looking to replace my stock struts with something that'll hold up the car...i have a lip on now and im probably leaning to a 3.5' drop or around there...i'll look around for koni's but like i said i dont have too much to spend on struts...i dont care about performance just that they work and i dont care about ride quality...just as long as it functions...hopefully i'll be able to to find something affordable..thanks for the help...i'll be sure NOT to buy gr-2s...

GR-2's are like stock shocks. You won't feel any difference. Save up and go with the AGX's because you have the options to adjust the stiffness of the car.
