I keep forgetting to ask Ken what was good to use on my dash. He mentioned it in some post awhile back. I've been lazy (well, whaddya know
) and neglecting it. :yells for Ken (nsxtasy):

Actually, not a good idea. The abrasion will change the appearance of the cleaned areas over time, and wear the fabrics. Go back and search for 'cleaning seats' or Alcantra (sp?). There was a good post in the last few months with the link to the Italian maker's web site of our simulated leather. It advises soaking with water only, then blotting with an absorbent cloth. No cleaners and no rubbing. Search and find that site before doing anything.
For the carpets and cloth parts of the seats, use the spray on stuff (forget the name - new foaming upholstry cleaner). Do not use that on the Alcantra!. Use a rag to mask the Alcantra if necessary. Again, cant go wrong with water and absorbent cloth.

for the carpet i rented one of those carpet steaming machines from the supermarket and took out the seats and steam cleaned the whole thing.
all the exhaust / gas smells and everything were gone for about 2 weeks, then the car returned to its gasuous exhaust scent.

I use a 6:1(water:woolite) mix that I just mixed up in a spray bottle. Its very mild so it wont hurt the seats and it cleans well. I also like the smell... got this a while ago from a search on here, so I know its floating around.
