Problem fitting a Koyo Aluminum Performance Radiator in my 89 CRX!
Just picked up a #1945 koyo aluminum radiator for my crx. Having trouble making it fit and looked up all the old threads involving the words "radiator" and "koyo". Someone mentioned that minor modifications needed to be done. What exactly needed to be done? Need the car running ASAP.
Note: Car is completely stock.

I have a solution. Trade me that radiator for my stock EF and your car will be running asap! j/k sorry I can't help u there, but this thread will be helpful to me once someone answers it as I will be doing the same as you.
i got a fluidyne in my 88 crx..if its like what you got then maybe i can help you out..for me i had to make sure my lower mounts were straight and even then i had to modify the bushings a little and on top the brackets dont line up right so i had to remove the bushings out of those..now it sits pretty good..whats the deal with your rad?
It won't go down all the way to meet the bottom bushings. Seems like either the bottom is too wide...
How do you know if your lower mounts are straight? They don't look adjustable.

I installed a Koyo radiator in my 91 crx; had to hacksaw off a couple of the lower radiator screw mounts to get it to clear my front crossmember.
Fitment was fine after that. Stock fan also fit with A6 motor a DC header and I was able to use stock hold down brackets. I've had it in for 6 months with no problems.
I don't think I can post up my pics as a trial user yet?

whats the deal with this? i was planning to go koyo too, but dont know now. do they have an official site? maybe they'll make a one of the new slim fit koyo's for us.
Here's a look at the fitment issues I had with the Koyo. I forgot that even after I got it to seat properly, the upper radiator hose mount hit the hood bracing - needed to hammer the hood bracing a couple times to get the hood to close easily.

In my case was different. I had to hacksaw off only the first lower radiator screw mount (from left to right on the pic.) Cause' I have a JimFab crossmember installed. Ah! One more thing, I believe that you're going to need a Koyo rad. cap.

Boy... looks like I got to get some work done. I'll probably have to have a friend cut that bottom parts off.
Thanks so much for the pics! Need this car running ASAP!

Dennis, sorry for not getting back to you as I have been very busy. I also had to do the same thing and cut off those tabs on the bottom. I guess I could have told you this earlier....doh!
Glad to help - let us know how it works out. Be careful of hitting the fins when you cut!
Nice to be able to give something back to this forum for a change, instead of just gleaning what others have learned
Dennis, i am running the KOYO in my hatch with the stock x-member. let me know if you need pics. I think I can get some after work tomorrow.
Thanks everyone! Those pics did justice.
I took a hacksaw and just cut them all off. Dropped straight in without any problems
