92 Accord ABS to Non - ABS brakes conversion..Brake guru's please reply!
Hey, i just bought a clean 92 Accord from my cousin for an amazingly cheap sum. I plan to restore it and make it the clean cruiser it used to be....The car has some bugs that need to be worked out but the biggest bug is are the brakes. It has a new master cylinder, front and rear calipers, rotors, pads, But when the brakes are applied, it pulls to the left , then when released, jerks to the right....It could just be needing to be flushed out and re-bled, BUT i think it could be a fucked up ABS modulator...I checked the priced for a new or remanufacutured modulator, and its freakin expensive, so i thought about just converting it to non- ABS. Have any of you done this and can help me out? Some tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for the quick reply, i just did that and went down the street, it feels the same....Also, the brakes lock up easier., still pulls to the left, and jerks to the right, when i release the pedal....Wat do u think?
You probably have a sticking brake hose. When the rubber brake hoses get old, they can internally collapse and act as one way valves. When you apply the brakes, pressure builds up faster on the side with the sticking brake hose and holds pressure even as you release the brakes, until the hose un-collapses.
You should replace both front hoses and re-bleed everything. The master cylinder should have been bench bleed or it is probably damaged and may also be the source of your problem. If in doubt on proper bench and on-car bleeding procedures, take the car to a shop. Brakes are too important to play trial and error with.
Good luck!

If you disconnected the wire harness from the abs and it did the same thing it was doing, it is not the abs. It is 2 independent systems. The brakes will work the same without the abs, to convert it to non abs just unhook it. Trust me I had an ABs modulator spring a leak on mine and it had no fluid for 6 months before I fixed it by putting another modulator in it and the brakes work fine without it.. Any factory repair manual will tell you the same thing, most manuals like Haynes, Chiltons etc. won't tell you a thing about the abs. Incidentally I bought a used ABS modulator for about $30.00 and I fixed my ABS with no problems. Like the other guy said it is most likely a hose problem or else you got ripped off on some of that hardware you already replaced.
Check your front, rubber brake lines. It sounds like the passenger line is twisted, probably when the brake job was done, or collapsed.
