What's wrong with my alternator/car?
initially, my alternator finally went bad on a 14+ yr old car and got it replaced. It ended up solving the problem, but only for a short while, it went out AGAIN, so i got it replaced. The third time (current), my mechanic looked at me saying how i have a weird car, he put the voltage tester on the battery....it charges sometimes, sometimes it doesn't....so what's wrong with my car? could it be something else in the electrical system that could be causing my alternator to short out or just not want to charge? what could i possibly look at to solve this problem? oh yeah one more thing, could the battery affect it? i also changed the battery to a dry cell, i believe it's an odyssey pc680. Any help is appreciated.
thanks in advance

could the voltage regulator burn out the alternator? let's say it can, does that mean i have to replace the alternator once AGAIN and replace the regulator at the same time?
