Default really bad idle and smoking turbo

i just installed an ihi rhb5 w/ss autochrome mani on a y7...i got everything hooked up and swapped out the mani to a y8 mani...but when i started the car and it had a really bad idle and started to smoke from the turbo...couldnt really see..but it looks like its around the oil return...and then the welds on my tapped pan started to seep...(i know i need a new pan with better weldings)...anyways i let it idle and smoke just kept goin and it sounded like a go cart really rough...i give a lil gas and its cutting out then would go back to idle...any suggestions on what to check or do?

The smoke might be because of your shitty return. Is there actually oil in the downpipe?

It cannot be because you do not have a missing link. If the car is at idle then your ecu is not seeing any boost, even if you give it gas it still won't see boost cause there is no load(shouldn't anyways)

What is the condition of the turbo??Any shaft play??

Was your engine running good before??

Did you put the plug wires in correctly??

What kind of Feed and what kind of return line are you using(SIZE)??

Pics would help to further answer your question

a little bit of smoking coming from the turbo and manifold is normal on first start up, because the grease/ dirt is burning of as it heats up, also try to reset your ecu when you put new parts on so your computer can relearn. If there are any leaks present, dont drive the car until they are taken care of. once it cools down run your finger around the oil return and see if there's oil on it.

-wouldnt i need a missing link even if the car ran fine?

-turbo is in good condition nothing bad noticed.

Was your engine running good before??

-yes it ran perfect...nothing wrong at all

Did you put the plug wires in correctly??

-never took plug wires out

What kind of Feed and what kind of return line are you using(SIZE)??

-i used what the kit came with...he gave me new fittings i believe it was a 3/8

Hey, Glad you fixed it man.

Now about that missing link thing, you can drive your car without but if you go into boost the ecu will go into safe mode. It will drive like **** after that till you reset your ecu.

This is by no way recommended, try to get one from someone here or you search on Ebay.

you'll be ok with what you got but think about upgrading the fuel management soon. IMO
