can two shortram intakes be made into a cold air intake?
have a few shortram intakes laying around and am alittle low on cash, so i was wondering if i could put two shortram intakes together to form something like a cold air intake? also, if i did this would i need a bypass valve? and is it going to be harmful to my motor in anyway? By the way i have no AC so there is plenty of room. If anyone can help or have suggestions please let me know, thanks.
I guess w/ some rubber and clamps you could make it happen, although I don't know how well it would fit. I would just check the clearance to the ground compared to that of a regular CAI.
As far as a bypass valve, if you're gonna put your intake near the ground, it wouldn't hurt to have one. Water isn't that friendly w/ your engine.

yes two short ram intakes can be made into a cold air intake. all you really need is the extra clamps and rubber to make it fit. I've done it but not with two short ram. I just used my aem short ram and extended it will a U-bend piping I got from http://www.summitracing.com the most cost effective CAI I ever made.
