Get ready for work this morning, head out the door late as usual only to find my car is GONE. No glass, no nothing, just GONE. I just kind of walk around in disbelief for a little while, get a hold of the maintenance people to find out that they did not tow the car.
****. I couldn’t believe it. Last time I saw the car was 8 PM last night. I live right off of I29 in MD. I really haven’t noticed anyone following me lately, though my commute pattern has just changed about a month ago to include I70.
Call the cops, file a report. Call State Farm, file a report. Cops show up, explain what happened, etc. Both agencies tell me that 90% of stolen cars are found. That doenn’t seem to be the statistic with ITRs, at least from what I’ve read here. Anyway, looks like now all I can do is drive around in my rental Metro (or Sunbird if really lucky) and wait 30 days. What a crappy feeling. And yes I’ll be the first to say that I don’t have a garage or a decent alarm so if you want to call me a dumbass go right ahead but I’m already pretty dismayed by the whole thing and the event is over so it will really do no good

Not much I can do, so I can at least ask you all to be on the lookout for the following:

1997 CW ITR #164 Looks stock from outside
Mods are: Jackson Racing Supercharger
Comptech icebox/Intake
JR BTC
JR MAP controller

That’s about it, I have gauges, etc but nothing that would be out of the ordinary to be sold on ebay, etc. If you see some questionable ITR or JR parts for sale, or if you happened to see a CW ITR in the MD/DC area last night or today please email me privatley.
VA/DC/MD people.... lock em up, I hope this is not the beginning of something.

Oh man Steve...oh man oh man. This is the first time someone I actually know has had their R stolen, so this hits very close to home, especially since I so enjoyed our conversations at Summit. Thanks, guys. I have no idea what I'm gonna do. I just want my car back. I was right in the middle of (slowly) getting it running just right with headers/exhaust/tuning. At least it wasn't taken right after all this was done. I'm thinking that if it isn't found in a week than I should consider it gone or unslavagable.

Man!!!!!! Every time I log into this board someones itr was just stolen or was attempted to be solen! This **** has to stop! Im thinking were gonna have to install retnal scanners and finger print scanners on our cars, you get two chances to get it right or the car explodes! Id rather me lose my r taking out the *** that just stole it instead ofthe engine winding up in a ford focus!

Bad news. I am really beginning to understand why insurance for my Type-R is so expensive. I was playing around with a web-based insurance quote form a fews days ago and discovered that a Porsche 911 Carrera would cost me only a little more per year than a my Type-R.

That sucks and most of us know the feeling. The reason the insurance says they recover 90% of stolen cars is b/c they do. The problem is they don't tell you whats left of them. My car was recovered with nothing but the shell. But hey the cops found it
