Your recommended turbo kit for a b16a
I have an EJ1 and I'm dropping a 92-95 B16A SIR-II into it. I'm also going to get a turbo kit to drop on it. What do you guys think would be the best bang for the buck on this motor and why? Also, I'm leaving the stock internals, and I'm looking to run around 7lbs of boost.
Which application do I order the turbo kit for?

I fully agree w/ both of these replies
it all depends on your long term goals...
300+ whp is much more easily attainable when you customize your setup.
research, research, research: bov, wastegate, intercooler, charge piping, injectors, manifold, turbo, fuel management.......
EDIT: I see you're only looking to run 7 lbs..... well boost is addictive! you're always going to want to see what 9 lbs is like, then you're always gonna want to see waht 12 lbs is like........ I wouldn't spend $3K on a kit that might limit you in the future

Most people don't want to piece together a kit. Getting tons of parts from many different places and dealing with shady people takes the fun out of. Buy a kit, get it in a week, bolt on in a day.
Yea guys, I'm not looking to build a drag car. Just something that's fun for a daily driver. I put a lot of miles on this car driving to work every day. It's a street car but we compete in shows. Basically I just want boost. I'm probably just going to get the Greddy kit. I can get it with fmic for really cheap since I have a wholesale account. It's great working in this industry lol.

Besides, are you leaving the rest of the engine stock? That is an important issue to consider when making that decision. I think *stock* B16A1+2 engines don't last too long daily driving at anything higher than ~8-9 PSI

yea i was looking to that kit also. seems like its pieced together using the top products basically-- spearco, tial, turbonetics...
mrgsr - obviously i havent made up my mind and wanted opinions. THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO GIVE ME SOME.

if i were in your situation i'd just keep the b16 and turbo it.... a swap seems extravagant if all you're interested in is having a "daily driver that's fun to drive" 7 lbs is plenty fun to drive, but it's true that it's more fun if you've got serious boost

I would pick the DRAG kit. I have had nothing but good out of it and it's easy to install and has many quality parts. Plus they make a kit just for a B16 in a EG platform unlike the Greddy which needs to be modified to fit.
WTF does 7 pounds mean?
7 psi on a T25... or 7 psi on a T3/67?
It's about horsepower. Stock B16's are daily driveable "safely" at around 240-260'ish WHP. Anything beyond that, you're going to want to look into a headgasket and studs... then onto internals like pistons/rods... and sleeves way down the road for over 400hp.
Everyone has their own opinion as to what is "safe"... the opinion above is strictly my own. TUNING plays the biggest role in the equation, combined with the right parts and the part amount of fuel being delivered.

sorry i didn't get specific...i was thinking of getting the revhard kit...the t3/t4 hybrid turbo....and if i wanted to stay just on stock internals....would i be safe pushing 7 or 8 pounds of boost....yes i am going to get it tuned...thanks

That manifold looks like a love fab or a full race
Oh and a Greddy kit would be good but Drag makes a good kit and so does full race. But if you're just looking for boost then just get a used greddy, drag, or rev hard kit. Also you should tune the shiet out of it.

i already have in mind i want that revhard for 2700 which is a pretty good deal i guess incase i ever wanna upgrade more it'll be the right kit but i gotta save up and get the kit then just push around 7 pounds tuned thanks
normally i would reccomend getting a custom setup but since u say u only wanna boost 7lbs and just want a turbo on your car get a drag kit. it's basic and has some good quality parts plus that "bling" factor with the polished piping for the shows....
