Default non v-tec bottom ends

i was thinking about building a ls or crv bottom end, but ive heard rumors that non-v-tec bottom ends, considering that they werent made for v-tec burn oil and are more likely to break. im just wondering if ne one has heard the same or not. i have a gsr head (port-polished etc) and wondering if i should leave it on the b16a bottom end (the bottom end has work too)

I have heard and seen in a few integs that the ls motor has oil stavation problems in the head. So it could be ture or it just could be bad luck but i think the non-vtec heads are not all that great. But i am not sure about the bottom ends. But the oil starvation could be a problem in the non-vtev motors.

the reason a lot of ls/vtec builds pop faster than vtec bottom end builts is bc they dont have the four little oil squirters that VTEC bottom ends have...

they are actually little things that squirt oil up from the bottom of the block to under the piston area... so a nonvtec bottom end doesnt get the same lubing as a vtec bottom end bc a nonvtec bottom end is built to rev as high as a vtec one

also, non VTEC rods are weaker than VTEC rods. theres 2 main reason why lsvtec blow up

The LS rods are weak, and cannot withstand high revving. you havve to have AT least ARP rod bolts. Even that is a temporary fix, you really need rods.

B20s have an 84 mm bore, the sleeves are too small an can crack under high revving and high compression. Rods arent to good either. both motos need to be built.

Oil squirters and Rod stroke ration are overrated IMO. IF the motor is buitl properly, it will last. Ive always stuck vtec block with vtec heads. Im not a big fan of LSVTEC cause most people dont take the time to do it right.

I'd suggest the vtec block if you're in the high rpm's for long period of time.
i was going to build a ls/vtec. instead i got the b18c.
I road race and figured the b18c would better suit my needs.
Oil squirters provide additional cooling to the rods.
supposedly oil squirters aren't an issue with a resleeved block when you use forged pistons.
They dissipate heat better than the stock pistons.
