new rex yay
ok i have been wandering these forums for some time now. i have always loved the rex and i finalluy got one. i got a 91 with a d15 that is race porepped and stripped already. it comes with a d15 and an f20. i was wondering what the options are on the f series. after reading many posts and seeing what paul did with the h series i am thinking of that or a k series. i have the time and i am thinking h22 because it looiks not to be over like 3k but i will be quick and learn. i am ready and willing to soak up knoledge. and engine swaps are not new to me. i have been swaping jeep engines for a long time. wondering what a good starting setup would be. i really want this to be a track car but more gt than drag. basically all around and fun to drive. so i also would enjoy susp and not just all motor. and could i possibly get the d15 doing something i mean im only looking for around 125hp and 100 torque. i got it for 500 and body is really the first thing. ok that was a lot i will read all that u all have to say. and very much in advance thanks for any help

for a starter setup i would recomend you buy a b16 cable swap and if you want to make your car go really fast in the future you can put money into the motor and make it 500 hp if you want, but its a great place to start for about 2000 installed
"k in a crx=lots and lots of cash... hows your budget? stick to b-series if you have any kind of a budget cap..."
does everyone remember when they first got into cars, there was no such thing as a money cap, and everything would just bolt in
sure, go with the k24 vtec
throw some itb's, a twin turbo and some nitrous on it too then youll be pretty quick

u have to consider too that the f-series is a very turbo-friendly engine. Looooong gears that trow you out of vtec in every gear (stock engagement).....
anyway there is this one guy who is running a f-series on the accord forum who is pushing 500hp+ on the snail..... so don't underestimate a f-series... if its a f22 = ~140hp f23=~150hp stock.... but these engines are well known to be boost-resistant and durable.... so u should be ok if u go 4 the f. good luck...

ok i am very reasonable on the fact that the k will not go in easily. i am a very heavy jeep guy but now wants something that handles. i have built custom motorcycles and all sorts of jeep stuff. i do engine swaps all the time. i do suspension swaps to stuff that there is nop way a bolt would hold. welding and cutting and making fit is something i understand very well. ok now my budget willbe about another 3k and am wondering if a small turbo like a t5 that has a custom built setup is worth it on the stock engine. or if the f20 that i am getting that is carborated would be stronger stock than d15 turb and the f will eventually be supercharged.
