Alomst everytime someone gets in or out of my car they slam the door. Makes me cringe every time. Its not a damn mustang people the door will close with minimum force. Does this happen to you guys?

 

all the time man. People slam my trunk and doors. They seem to think nothing of it too. Which pisses me off!

ditto.....when they get in the car usually i tell to PLEASE not slam the door, and most people don't think anything of it, just like what Type Goch said, what hurts the most is when the windows are down and they slam the door....OUCH!

Happens all the time!! For some strange reason...they think that the door will not shut if they don't slam it.....some of my friends slam it so hard that I think the window might shatter one day.
they also like to slam it by pushing the window which leaves a freaking handprint on the windows!!

 

Yeah, people do that all the time in my teg too. One girl commented that she liked the doors on my car because they were light and easy to close... ??

 

LOL! Yep, happenned all the time. Now I have the opposite problem. No one shuts it hard enough. THe WRX has kind of hard to latch doors. You have to close it with some force. Took me a month to get used to it.

 

I hate when people shut it and put their greasy hands all over the edge of the window and the black trim is all smudged But yeah, they slam mine too.

 

Same here.
Though after I've mentioned it once or twice ... they see it's not necessary to slam!

Maybe everyone else just has cars with inferior build quality!

As a result of people slamming my door all the time, the door vibrates at speed. Does anyone else have this problem, or know of a way to fix it? The dealer says that they can't do anything about it.

 

Drives me crazy. I don't get why everyone has to slam the door. I won't even let them near the trunk.

yup. my boss weighs 300+ lbs. i cringe everytime he shuts my door, putting all 300 lbs into it

Me too. Makes me cringe.. it sounds so fruggen aggressive, like somethings breaking. I think everyone is used to big ol american cars where you actually have to put some weight behind it. I think most people perceive that the door is large so it must have alot of mass and needs considerable force to close it.

When I first met my girlfriend, I made sure as soon as she sat down in my GSR for the first time "DONT SLAM MY DOOR!!!" And she never has, two years goign strong without any door slamming lol! Sounds like a keeper.

 

My wife slams my doors too, but what can I say. She just got used to it .

 

They slam the door because they are stupid. actually the only way to stop it is to dont let them touch it, just close it for them. Its bad enough my cw98 is getting ragedier and ragedier. My doors are soon to fall off. They do make alot of noise when cruising at times. The passenger door even looks like its not closed when it is. Someone gave me a tip on how to fix it. I just havent yet. Man that shyt really gets on my nerves. Thats why I ride alone most of the times. People dont respect anyones shyt. I swear.

I hate that **** too. Everybody thinks I drive an 82 Firebird or something.

I also hate it when people shut my trunk with the spoiler!

I can't imagine the pain I would feel if somebody closed my trunk and I had an ITR.

 

If you think thats worse, my wife once used the spoiler to lift the trunk, and same as you, uses it too to close the trunk, makes me cringe...never again....she also once spilled tapioca on the passenger side, I was left cleaning it, good thing there were no stains left, and yeah she is a door slammer in a tiny frame.. but still I her, just give me an hour to cool down after every incident mentioned above.

 

When I open the passenger door for someone (no power locks), I always rush to my side and get in and shut my door (gently) before they shut their door. Its much easier to slam the door when the other door is open or the window is open (air pressure I suppose)

thats why I don't drive people around now with a 2-seater I can't!
