Check this out!! B18C Spec R power!
I found this on the web. The car weights 880kg and uses a stock 96 spec B18C R engine. It kinda looks like the lotus and the new MR-2/MR-S.
here is the link for it............drool......

it is a Lotus..but they took out the POS Rover engine out and put in a b18c...the car weighs only 1800lbs so it really flies!

Now imagine that car with some work done to the engine. If it runs lows 13.s now I can only imagine what it would do if it was laying 220 or so to the wheels.I am sure it handles incredible too.
SCC did a write up on one of those things a while ago. They said when it comes to handling they make miatas and mr2 spyders look like childs play.
I want one pretty bad, sucks that they cost almost 50K though

Hey, for that kind of cash you could get a hatch with the same motor in and it could be running somewhat close. Also have money left over for a nice suspension, and heck, if you like that convertible look, you could make one of those also out of it!
I though that was a different car then the Lotus Elise. It looks alot different and the shifter is by the door and not centered.
Yeah, I don't think that's the Lotus/Sunspeed Elise (which has the ITR engine). Here's some specs on that Elise:
1700 lbs.
200hp/137tq
11.3 CR
9100 redline
Runs the 1/4 somewhere in the high 12's and has a max speed of around 160 or so. And yes, price of $50k

The one I saw in SCC was in fact a Lotus with a B18C, but the one listed here seems to have a GS-R motor...
"The 180bhp VTEC engine is one of its finest units and is an excellent powerplant for a lightweight sportscar. It produces strong horsepower, is light and revs to a thrilling 7600rpm."

What a bunch of smart *** engineers and marketing...
GSR Motor $4,000
Car $10,000
The look of a owner's face when he finds out that he paid $40,000 more than what he had to...Priceless.

That is not a Lotus Elise.....That is a GSR motor.......The Elise with the ITR motor was built to pass emisions and the motor is mounted differently than that picture. I have driven severly Elise on the track (Grattan in MI) and they are awesome little cars but the stock Rover k-series motor is a little weak.

In the new Best motoring, there's a lotus with 208 hp 1.8L engine that runs against Ferrari 360, Porsche GT3, Lancer EVO and others. Almost wins in the end, but the Porsche squeaks by on the straight away at the last second. The lotus still smoked all the other cars. I was humbled.
