Default have you ever seen these struts? if you have, i have a question about them!

i have these struts in my 88 crx, the picture above is for the rear ones.

these struts have an adjustment screw on the top, but they also have this screw nut set up on the bottom.

my question is, what is this screw for? if it's for adjusment, how will this adjusment change the way my car handles? can i use it for my advantage, when i drag race? TIA

They're OHLINS.
The bottom screw might be the compression adjustment.
Clean them up, get a part # and contact Ohlins.

interesting, not only has this forum become THE suspension forum, but also how to make your suspension better for DRAG racing. on top of teaching ppl how to read and look up numbers on the internet.

it's also the forum where you can voice your opinion, no matter how pointless it might be. Just because i asked hwo can i use it in drag racing, it doesn't mean that that's the only thing i do with this car. bb6h22a, thankx for your help man

I believe the adjusters are there to add or decrease the amount of JDM in the shock.

Ohlins makes good quality stuff, actually. Well respected in the rally business where shocks are REALLY shocks rather than mere dampers...

Thats what I was going to say. In the M/C world, they are a really nice peice; better than the stock showa and kayabas that are usually on bikes.

old and crusty ohlins may not be any better than well-working stock shocks.
