Default Flashing Seat Belt light?

The seat belt light in my 91 Si's cluster flashes, even when my seat belt is connected. It used to just flash sometimes, and if I shut the car off and turn it back on it would be fine, but now it just keeps flashing. What does this light mean/ how do I turn it off?

First check the connection under your seat, there is a wire that runs to the receiver you have to pull your seat out. May not be making a connection there. Check the wires for the seat belt through the car. Check fuse. If it still flashes remove cluster and remove bulb

move the seat all the way back
look under the seat there will be some wires with a conneter on them
disconnet the wires
you are now beep and flashing light free

I had the exact same problem only on the passenger side. Hehe pull the plug and it will solve all your problems.

ok, check this out. mine did the same thing, and i have no idea if this is your problem. Mine was letting me know that the fuse for my horn and break lights was blown. If your horn doesn't work, i'd say thats whats wrong. i know it sounds crazy, but it worked for me. you might have short in one of your fuses, and thats your indicator. check out whats not working.

question, is the circut completed when you push in the seatbelt, so that joining the wires would keep the light/beep off, or is the circut intrrupted, so that joining the leads would keep the light/beep on. ???

I have been thinking about connecting the wires just below the seatbelts, to keep that damn beep off. I drive around w/ my belt on all the time, but I have to keep my passanger belt in as well or else it will beep over and over.

well no, heres how mine is set up (this is a Civic Si, not a CRX if that makes a difference, but I do have the CRX dash).

normally, not having my seat belt on will result in the light on.
putting my seatbelt on and into the cliker the light goes off.
the whole overhead thing is disabled (it dosnt work, regardless of passenger seatbelt), and I have no beeping either.

What was going on today was that the light flashes regardless of whether my seatbelt is on or off (connected or not). I couldnt reset it like usual by turning the car off. I just installed a stereo so the blown fuse thing sounded logical, but I just went out and checked and now the bastard light is working fine. I may just pull the wire now with the gained insight

The beeping comes from the flash indicator thingy thats located by the rear view mirror, if anyone needed an FYI, since i recently discovered this
