HKS Wastegate Flange

How do you guys weld your hks wastegate flange? to you have the flat side facing the wastegate or manifold?

i have a standard hks wastegate

thats correct, the ring is for sealing.

yea, but i cant seem to fit the wastegate on there, am i suppose to force it on there?

Here is an HKS 40mm Flanged Manifold.. YOu shoult see the flange..
