Default '97 Odysssey 105,000 timing belt

Our '97 Odysssey has 93,000 miles on it.

Manual says to replace the timing belt 105,000.

A tech says Hondas replace at 90,000.

Does the Odyssey have a better belt than other Hondas?

Any problem going 105,000?

Thanks

I think Honda (along with everybody else) was under a lot of pressure to advertize no maintenance for 100k miles. I don't think they actually switched to a better belt, they just changed the schedule.

Risk factors (imho):
- really hot climate? (tropics, with mold growing everywhere?)
- ever leak oil onto the belt?
- spend a lot of time testing the rev-limiter? (oh nevermind, it's an Odyssey)
