Question on replacing rear speakers in 01 gsr
Does anyone have some knowledge on this? Is it just a matter of removing that little speaker grill? Do I need a harness of some sort? They are 6 1/2" speakers right?
Thanks!

Oh yeah, i'm looking to replace with some aftermarket jbl GTO 6 1/2s. Do you think there are mounting/clearance issues with this? Would hate to have to fabricate a speaker mount for this car...
You have to take off that entire side panel (from door to trunk) to fet the rear speaker out. You can't just take off the grill.
to get to the speaker take the grille off couple of screws.
then the speaker its a 6x9 not a 6 1/2, another couple of screws from inside the car this time and its out, unplug it from the harness and done.
to install a new one its the reverse, you will have to cut the harness off and use the + and - wires to connect to the new speaker.
