d16z6 strait piping......
It will move your powerband up real high and make it loud as hell, but removing restriction on the exhaust will help as long as you don't loose you exhaust pulse( too big piping)
Agreed. Straight pipes are not for city driving at all. YOu car will be sluggish until you hit around 4000 rpms then it would open up pretty good. I say a good 5 to 10 hp. Also, since no back pressure is created, you will be going through valves every 10000 miles.

Is this true? With a straight pipe, you can damage your valves every 10,000 miles? Seems a bit extreme, no?

Dimi, i can only provide my experience. I run a harley shovelhead with straight pipes. And every winter, i have to tear down the heads and lap the valves since the valves and seats become pitted by the lack of backpressure.
If i don't do that, well the valves will start to let oil pass by them and then i start burning oil.... Was 10000 miles exagerated? Maybe someone here runs this and can confirm...

Well if it's true, then it's true. But I know there's a bunch of people on H-T who run straight pipe and I still haven't seen a "Don't run a Straight Pipe, it f*cks your Valves" thread yet.
