I removed the head of my car (errr...it's a Nissan,but I post here as I know there are plenty of men whith a good knowledge on this board) after having only covered 12km since the rebuild cause I had a problem on the bottom end.Now I gotta fit the head back.

My Tomei head gasket still looks fine and I wonder if I can re-use it or if I should fit a new one...

(I know a std head gasket can't be used twice,but as the Tomei is a reinforced metallic one,I really wonder if it's possible or not...)

Don't tell me that a HG can't be used twice because everybody say so...I won't reuse a std HG,but a metalic one SEEMS kind of reusable...

I would never reuse any head gasket regardless of the make. Just my 2 cents though.

copper hg can be reused 6 times , but i think it need to be heated and annealed or something like that.

and the hks/blitz can be reused 3 times as advertised I dont know about the Tomei, but check with AEBS in San Diego( Tomei distribtor).

Personally, I would use it if was said it was resuseble.

Thx,I gonna try to find out if Tomei claims their HG are reusable or not.

 

I know people that have re-used them. I never have myself, but they have never had a problem with that.

 

i reused a stock gasket used for 30k, just sprayed copper seal on it and it was good to go. But that was for a motor that needed to be done and it was 10 at night.

if you Reuse check if it looks good with no dent or the rings around the clyinder is nnot all cracked
