turbo sohc dyno pics and timeslips
i just dyno'd the sohc last friday and ran at the local track on sunday. here are the results. i ran those times with 20x6x14 m/t slicks on stock steelies and no seats. i was trying to get into the 12's. tell me what you think.

92 civic vx
stock d16z6 block
dave hickman racing p&p head
basic apexi turbo kit
spearco intercooler w/custom piping
greddy sp 70mm catback
hondata s200 w/boost
tokico illumina adjustable coilovers

i think i could have gotten better ridrange power tho. the boost is set at 6psi but when it hits 6.5k rpm, the boost creeps to 9psi. i never noticed that until this dyno session. plus i forgot to bring my mbc when i dyno'd the car. i got like 6-7 pulls. i couldve gotten more pulls on the dyno but i got scared that the motor was gonna blow. i was fine with 210whp. this is on a dynojet.

Damn dude.. Your right there with me.. Did you ever run your car turbo'd before the p&p was done to the head.. Im trying to figure out how much of a difference it made on your times..

actually i did. i ran 13.7 before the p&p head and zex cam. i have my old dynosheet if you are interested in seeing it. top end power was great after the p&p head and zex cam.

kool, another boosted MN sohc. i will see you at the end of the month if you decide to go to roackfalls raceway. ill hopefully get 12's on the next raceday.

i do but they suck. my friend, who had the camcorder, couldnt stop his hand from shaking. plus he only got me like 3 times. we had a 5min clip out of a whole day at the track.

damn, you have the shorter ef gearings. i was planning on swapping my setup over into a crx. its very hard to find one in MN even if they have 2nd stage cancer.
nice job though. it proves you dont need a dohc to go fast.

Yup.. Im running the crx si trans that has the 4.25 final drive in it.. Im rebuilding the sohc motor with Suzuki vitara pistons and ls integra rods and posting the block so im planning to get a good amount more power out of it..

hehehe. i towed mines just incase.
will do. i am a sohc guy. all my friends are telling me to go dohc but i dont have that much money. one of them even said that i must have the best luck with a sohc but it was built correctly from the beginning. i think that my pistonrings are starting to give tho. hopefully i can run 12's before that happens. i am planning to save up and buy some forged internals so i can boost some more. wish me luck and i will have new slips at the end of the month, so keep an eye out.
im not sure what the timing is set at. the guy who tuned my car has always set my timing. i think its at 14. sorry i cant check becus my friend has my timing light.
oh yeah and i am using an internal wastegate. i will only go external when i get a different turbo kit. internal is fine for now.
