Default Suspension Gurus. Will this solve my problem

Car
88 Crx Si

Problem
The right rear LCA shock bolt is seized and cant be removed without breaking it off. So Instead of buying a new shock/lca and bolts by just cutting/grinding it off.

Solution

Can I just remove the entire assembly, just remove the 2 bolts on both sides of the lca shock bolt and that will release the LCA right? Then I can just drop the entire assembly with shock spring still intact.

I can then pop off the old springs and put the new adjustable coils on the stock shocks (there almost new so I mgith as well blow em). So this would allow me to install the springs without even removing the shock from the lca

Its for an 88 and the seized bolt is the shock bolt if know one caught it

Throw anythign at me that may go wrong or if something else is attached to the lca that Im missing but can be removed. Ideas/Opiniong

Yea it will work, I have doen it that way before, and if you want to replace the bolt itys easy to drill out when off the car.

I dont have a tap though, and isnt the nut tack welded on the LCA?

So all will work for this? are the other bolts usually as hard or can I just start soaking them in Liquid wrench 2 days before every 10 hours and crack em with some heat

Ha funny you posted this. I'm doing new springs and struts all around. I just snapped that bolt.. YOU CAN do exactly what you just said. Just remember the honda dealer price for the bushing is only around $20 and $8 for the bolt. Just another option.
