JRSC VTEC PROBLEMS! SOME HELP PLZ!
well stock i ran a 14.72 in my ITR at 94 with azenis tires
today i went to NE dragway and ran a 14.65 at 95 with a JRSC (5.5 psi), JR fuel pump, JR fuel regulator, JR MAP controller, AEM short ram, azenis tires
WTF! my times sucked all night! and i was getting GREAT launches, like 2.1-2.2 60 fts all night
and it seems like my VTEC isnt engaging at all, it feels like an LS with a SC....
i cant figure out what is wrong, but i have crazy torque from SC, and no top end, my BEST trap speed out of 7 runs was a 95.5......
makes no sense, car doesnt seem to have vtec anymore, i dont hear any vtec engagement, i dont feel any power increase between 5500 and 6500...
so confused...
any help here will be greatly appreciated

how do you have it tuned?
Could also be the Vtack solenoid.
And why would you keep running the car if you know there is something wrong???

yeha for real.....is it throwing any codes....

The power transition from low to high cam isn't noticible with the jrsc. Plus, the blower whine is so loud you can't hear anything "kick in".
What's your timing at?
What about fuel pressure?
What FMU are you running?
Your times are way too low for a setup that should be breaking the 200whp lark easily. Take it to the dyno before you blow it up.

From what I have heard, without a hondata (or equivalent), the basic kit does not net much gains for an ITR with the included JR controller. But I'd imagine you would still have atleast around 15 whp up on your stock setup. So I'd figure you shouldn't be running almost identical times.
How about temperature, humidity, elevation? Were those all the same between your stock runs and JRSC runs?

I have a jackson on mine and with steper pully only make6-7 pounds I know if I run the timeing that jackson wants you to run that it is slower than **** I dont know what your gas is where you live but I have no detonation at all I normaly use 93 oct but sometime I have to use 92 when my v-tech comes on I know it because it dose not make good power till it dose. But you might want to look at your fuel before you turn the timing up I am still using fmu but fuel pump 310's and old school feild v-tech controller with AEM wideband works great but am going uberdata now and turning up the boost.

Ah yes, here comes the senseless jrsc bashing. A little late in the thread, but as inevitable as flies on manure.

You need to remove all the Jackson Racing band-aids and get some real engine management. The Hondata will do wonders for you. You should also up the boost to at least 7 psi and maybe 10psi for the real gains and performance.
For all you haters of the JRSC....many people are starting to come around who have bashed it in the past, and they are putting them on their street cars for reliability and instant power delivery. Some of these people are well known racers and tuners and hate to admit that thy have seen the light on this issue.
I now have had a completely stock ITR, Turbo ITR and a JRSC ITR. Of all of them I liked the JRSC ITR the most. I also believe that the smoother delivery of boost with the JRSC as compared to a Turbo is much easier on the engine (pistons, rods and bearings). Turbos tend to have a somewhat sudden bosot spike as they spool up.

i unno if the fuel stuff you have stops it from happening.. But i know a lot of JRSC apps on teh ITR caused the engine to dump too much gas at high RPM making the car lose power. MIght wanna check into that but need to dyno it then.

You have a whole list of them, why don't you read
Is it tuned or was it just dyno'd there is a big difference

190whp is what I'd expect from your car untuned. You should be able to hit low 200's with tuning. Get a free flow exhaust and you'll see 210-215whp on stock boost.
