Getting my first Accord soon .. 96 Accord LX

If I use a speaker adapter bracket/plate to mount two 6.5" speakers in the rear 6"x9" holes, will I likely be able to use the factory grills?

I am moving these speakers from my 89 Civic, and I threw away the Kenwood grills.

if its anything like my back speakers...they are bolted in from the bottom...if they dont fit...you may be able to make a riser of some sort....to lift it about the speaker enough. if the adapter is made for your car...then i would think they would fit fine, but if its a general adapter you may have issues.

 

I have 6.5 in the back of my 94 accord lx. I just dropped them in, I didn't need to do anything special and the stock speaker covers almost fit perfectly.

to fit mine, i made an MDF piece and bolted it under the parcel shelf, and then bolted the speaker to that. Was the only wy the 6.5" i had would fit there, and also uses the stock grills

 

Why would you want to put 6.5 speakers in the 6X9 holes? I have 6.5 speakers in the front only because thats what fits and I didnt want to do any cutting but in the back I have 6x9's that sound so much better. I guess anything would sound better than the stock ones though.
