Default pressure plate slippage?

i engaged in a little challenge this evening with a GS-X this evening... unfortunately my clutch couldn't handle the power (NOS)... but what i don't understand is that even when i let the gear catch, and then i mashed the throttle, the car revs woulds shoot to redline as if it was slipping... is this a problem with the pressure plate?

clutch probably. pull the tranny and check the clutch. if it isnt that, you an take a look at the pressure plate once the tranny is out. ive lost a few bolts of my pressure plate once, and it wasnt fun. but i did get a fidanza lightened flywheel out of it so whatever. but its probably your clutch slipping. how much nos you running and what type of clutch do you have?

when a clutch goes, it'll pop out of gear sometimes as well, won't it?

alrighty, so i've already decided on the ACT heavy duty clutch w/ organic pressure plate... any recommendations on flywheels?

After the initial clutch burning, its friction surface gets glazed, so even after you let the gear catch, it's going to slip again when you get on the gas/NOS. It takes a while to burn the glaze off through regular driving.

if your clutch is going bad, it wont pop out of gear. i think at least not. thats usually tranny going bad id\f it keeps popping out, or a bad syncrho

My clutch just recently went and it didn't slip, but it wouldn't shift until the rpm dropped to about 2k or so, like if you're trying to shif without the clutch.
