Id buy a new motor, ZC s are cheap. dont hassle with rebuilding it.

What are you talking about dont rebuild it
Strip it down and see exactly what went wrong
But you can rebuild it and have a 100% new bottom end and clean up the valves of carbon for about $500.
Crank machining - $75
Your oem pistons - Free
Hastings bearings n rings - $118
Headgasket - $65
For rods its really your choice, can go aftermarket performance for like 300 or you can just source out ones that are used/new
Either way thats what I would do if the head was undamaged, if it is, then Id start a massive motor build up lol
up to you if you have the time I suppose, could always just buy the one rod

well most ZCs are crap out here ( i owned an kknew several poepl with them) The cost of machine work, posibly boring, new pistons, bearings, rings = $400-500 which equals ZC motor. swap an ride, rebuild the blown one on the side
plus its rare to find just a ZC bottom end. I would throw a D15 in it an ride , rebuild the ZC if it can be done. It sounds like he doesnt have time to rebuild , do machine work, im just giving him a quicker avenue.

that's what full race is saying...for about the same price, you can have a rebuilt motor opposed to buying another used one that may blow up again.

hell i would like to find out where u get your **** done vteckidd cause that would be sweet to find a deal like that it is going to cost me like 1200 to get the block machine work done and pistons and rings ect... you get the point i am pulling the motor next weekend hope nothing is too bad in there anyone got any advice on what pistons to use i was thinking wiesco with eagle rods going boost hopefully soon if there isnt to much wrong with it thanks
to rebuild it properly you need to over bore the cyl meaning you CANT re-use the pistons (you need OEM over bore pistons). then you gotta hone the cyl to accept the new rings. THEN you need to micro polish and check the crank. Get all new bearings. then you should plastigauge it.
Most people just let the machine shop assemble the bottom end because from time to time you need "last minute" machining on a rod or crank or whatever and it's a PITA to bring it back in.

Thats crazy! $1200!! I had my GSR block bored, hones, decked, rotating assembly balnced(pistons, rods, flywheel, crank) micropolished crank, ARP rod bolts installed 9mm, shotpeened rods/sized , hot tanked twice for $560. I would swap a d15 in an ride cause you can get D15s for $100 an less. This will give you time to build your ZC. take my word for it, it will take you TIME to build it, its not a weekend affair. mine took 6 months, and i was rushing it.
