on one of the local message boards (revscene.net) is an unsubstantiated story about someone who was selling his 98 itr privately about 2 weeks ago. apparently one of the "potential buyers" later stole it. there's more but this story's credibility is still up in the air, but i did check the ads from 2 weeks back and there is a 98 itr advertised... not great

This is serious, not only can we not drive our cars to take our wife/girlfriend out to dinner - we can't even sell them now...
Um dont let the buyer see where you live.... Do a few zig-zaggies and a HIGH speed run after you meet them to lose them.

I do that everytime I drive my R home. I take the *low key* way...so that NO ONE would ever follow me. I would know if they were and I wouldn't drive to my house.
If I were to sell my R, I would definately meet the person somewhere else other than my house.

I personally believe that theives should leave our R's alone, we've been working very hard to keep them by our sides, we put lots of effort into it and they should understand, they should start jacking cop cars or something and do everyone some good.

Not really along the same lines, but deals with getting followed.
Two summers ago my friends and I drove 14 hours from Winnipeg to Calgary to visit my buddies parents and family. After being in the city for an hour we head to the car wash to get the bugs off. On the way back to my buddies house I notice a 90 prelude following me for a little while. After about 20 minutes of zig zagging he backs off and leaves. I get back to the house and my buddies brother asks if I was being followed. I said "yes, how did you know?". He says a guy he knows calls him up to say he's following an out of town GSR to see where he parks so he can jack the rims (Team Dynamic monzas at the time in 17"). He tells the guy "is it a silver GSR with white rims with Manitoba plates? If so you better not touch it, that's my brothers friend". Sheesh! and only an hour in the city!

If you do sell privately, just meet at a mall or some other public place.
I remember shopping for the R and one dude had a 'For Sale' sign on the car which
was parked on the front lawn.
