how can i tell if its a 90-91 trans or a 92-93 trans

Default how can i tell if its a 90-91 trans or a 92-93 trans

i was looking at my DA's trans its a 92 and the serial # says ys1 and the the one I have on the side which i bought as a spare just has a serial numbers like on my single cam trans', meaning there are no letters. is this how they tagged the 90-91 trans'

no, the pre 92 trans are less spline. sorry that sounds wierd but the input shaft has less splines on them. its a difference of one I believe. and there were no Ys1 before 92, even JDM were Y1, J1 I believe.
