Strange trunk creaking...HELP
It's not the latch or the suspension.
I suspect it's the crossed-over flexing bars Honda put across the top of the trunk that holds the trunk open when it's lifted to the top. Poor-man's hydraulics. It made a whole lot of racket all of a sudden a couple days ago so I went back there and pulled on those things a bit and I think one popped into place. It doesn't make the same noises now, just creaking and squeaking less but still annoying. I don't know what else to do because there is nothing to screw or lube or anything.
Help.

mine was making a simular sound, ended up being the support behind the back bumper. pull it off and tie-wrap it to the frame then put the back bumper back on.its hard foam.
