When should reinforcement be used for swaybar?
I plan to get GSR LCA's and swaybar for my '94 Si coupe, and I know that it is a rather conservative size, something like 14mm. I will be riding on the stock suspension.
I am curious as to if, and when, subfram reinforcement should be used when using a sway bar.
Also, I also found from searches here that people manage to tear/rip their subframe despite using reinforcements.

Some people say that the 98+ integras subframe is stronger then the rest but its only Integra Rs that are stronger. You'll be fine. You only need to think about reinforcing the subframe when you start to use 24mm with heavy track use, and If your springs aren't stiff enough and you're using your swaybars for most of the stability.
Well, I will be using stock GSR bar, which is like 14mm. No track racing, only turns that can be legally done on a street without being unsafe. The springs are not that stiff, as they are the stock springs.
Sorry to h-jack your thread but what about a 91 civic Si with stock springs and koni yellow's? I'd be putting a 22mm bar for autox use, higher rate springs?
To the original poster, with the stock GSR 14mm rear sway bar, you don't need any other subframe reinforcements. Just use the stock locations/brackets (and if you don't have any right now, then use what a stock GSR/LS uses).

Stock springs/Koni yellows do not affect the subframe stress. If anything, it would be less, since the whole suspension assembly would move less. But basically, it wouldn't make a difference. If you plan to put a 22mm bar on later, then you will need the BSQ or the Beaks kit. Note that you can't use those kits for the smaller 14mm bar as the bushings/brackets are made for the larger 22mm one.
