and lets say a 97 ls is called a b18b1 right?? whats da difference between a new ls and da old one besides da fact that old body owns??

 

For all intensive purposes, it's the same motor - they are both 1834cc, 9.2:1 comp ratio, have 81mm x 89mm bore and stroke. However, the 1992-93 B18a1 has 140hp@6300 rpm, where the B18b1 has 142hp@6300. Also, the b18a1 is 126tq@5000 where the b18b1 is 127tq@5200. The redline is also different, b18a1 has a 6500 rpm redline, while the b18b1 is at 6800.
